Making a wormery

Today in P2 we made a wormery!

We added small stones then layers of soil and sand. We had to make sure to add water as we went. We found earthworms hiding in the compost that Mrs McElroy brought to school. We used gloves to gently add them to our wormery, and some of us were brave enough to touch them with our bare hands! At the end we added leaves, flowers and some fruit peelings. 

We added black paper around the wormey to keep it dark. We can’t wait to find out what they get up to!
