Our P2 classroom was buzzing from early morning, we dawned our wellies, tucked our bucket and spades under our arms and we were greeted by Mr McWilliams and his fun bus to the beach! Mrs McConkey brought her ‘Boom box’ and took requests all the way to Co. Donegal! 🤩 We sang ‘The Wheels on the Bus, Hickory Dickory Dock, Row, Row, Row Your Boat, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and Five Little Speckled Frogs’ to name but a few. By the time we hit off Ballyshannon the boys and girls were super SUPER excited they had their eyes peeled to the windows for signs of the sea then from the front Mrs Ebbitt shouted ‘I can see the sea and the sea can see me!’
On arrival at Rossnowlagh Mr McWilliams helped us to the beach with our lunch bags, here we all were on the beach with our friends. 🤗 The sun was shining and the sea was splashing waves. 🌊 We sat down and enjoyed our delicious school snack the lovely cooks had prepared for us. We then took our buckets and spades and we dug sandcastles, we collected lots of sea shells for our classroom, we built a castle with a ‘Moat’ as we are the ‘Moat Primary School!’ Mrs McConkey brought us down to the sea to collect water for our Moat. We had the BEST time all P2 classmates together.
The sea air made us hungry and we each enjoyed our scrumptious pack lunches that we had brought with us. We ate our picnic together and enjoyed chatting and telling stories from our beach trip, we even discussed how best to finish off our sand creations!
All too soon, it was time for home. We left the lovely beach as we found it, minus a few sea shells 🐚🤣 we popped our buckets and spades under our arms and headed back to our bus 🚌 The boom box played all the way home with our favourite tunes and we really enjoyed a sing a long!
