P7 Chairs Went On Strike

24th Mar 2026

What a day for P7!After break, the class returned to find a crime scene in the classroom….their chairs had gone on strike.Fed up and feeling unappreciated the chairs even left behind a letter explaining why and insisting that the pupils owed them a heartfelt apology.

P7 got straight to work. They read the chairs’ letter and explored a WAGOLL ( What A Good One Looks Like) to identify the key features of persuasive writing.Working in pairs, pupils colour- coded the text and discussed what makes a strong argument.
Then it was time to plan their own persuasive pieces to convince the chairs to return, gathering reasons and building their case with plenty of creativity and teamwork.

During lunch, the chairs had a good read through P7’s work. They were so impressed that they decided to come back.Phew! Let’s hope P7 continue to impress…. or the tables could be next !
