This week in P1, we’ve been learning how to sort objects by one property - an important early maths skill that helps us make sense of the world around us. We started by exploring autumnal items like conkers , leaves and pine cones , sorting them into sets based on their size , shape and type. We also became super helpers in the classroom . When it was time to tidy up, we worked together to sort the playdough cutters , rollers and shapes into the correct drawers , thinking about what made each item similar or different . Making the most of the sunshine , we took our sorting skills outside - grouping natural collections and classroom materials in the fresh air .
