Ulster Scots 🥁

2nd Mar 2022

Today we had great fun at Ulster Scots as we enjoyed learning all about Lambeg drums. We were treated to the origins story of how they were used as a warning sound for battle, nowadays they are most commonly used for parading. Lambeg drums are made of goats skin and wood as having a metal drum would expand in the heat. We were very lucky to get to hear other instruments such as fifes and smaller drums. It was such an experience to hear how loud and striking they are.
